My Approach

Are you seeking a therapist who will truly listen — someone who understands the emotional weight of physical challenges, life transitions, and day-to-day stress?

As a psychotherapist with a background in nursing, I bring a compassionate, integrative approach to therapy that honors the connection between mind and body. I support individuals facing a range of challenges, including the emotional impact of caregiving, parenting identity shifts, perinatal and postpartum changes, chronic illness and pain, and anxiety that disrupts daily life.

Whether you're adjusting to a major life transition, navigating burnout, exploring your sense of self, or trying to restore balance to your relationships and routine, you deserve a space where you can feel deeply heard, supported, and empowered.

My person-centered approach means that therapy is uniquely tailored to your needs, pace, and goals. Together, we'll work toward healing, insight, and a renewed sense of clarity and confidence in your path forward.

Professional Background

My professional journey began in health care and evolved into a deeply fulfilling path in psychotherapy. I bring a strong foundation in medical knowledge and emotional care, which allows me to support clients with an integrated understanding of the mind-body connection.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN): Developed a comprehensive understanding of human health through diverse clinical placements.
  • Mental Health Nursing Practicum: Solidified my passion for supporting individuals living with both emotional and physical health challenges.
  • Focused work in Perinatal and Postpartum Mental Health: My experience and deep interest in supporting individuals during pregnancy, postpartum, and related transitions have shaped my therapeutic focus. I integrate nursing insight and emotional support to help clients navigate these profoundly transformative times.
  • Ongoing focus on Chronic Illness, Chronic Pain, and Caregiver Burnout: My nursing background, combined with my therapeutic work, has given me a nuanced understanding of the emotional toll that illness and caregiving can take. I support individuals navigating these complex experiences with empathy and practical insight.
  • Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP): Expanded my therapeutic knowledge and strengthened my clinical practice alongside inspiring peers.
  • Practicum at Roots in Wellness: Supported individuals with a variety of concerns, gaining rich, client-centered counselling experience.
  • Secondary Practicum at Trust Therapy: Focused on recovery after motor vehicle accidents, helping clients cope with chronic pain, trauma, and identity shifts post-injury.
  • Founder of Flourishing Mind Counselling: Established a group practice grounded in my core values — offering a safe, inclusive space with a wide range of services and resources to support individuals on their healing journeys.

A Little About Me

I grew up in Quebec and completed my schooling in English, making me fluently bilingual in French and English. I now live just outside of Ottawa with my husband, son, and our three beloved cats. Nature and movement are cornerstones of my own well-being — I enjoy cycling and walking along the Mississippi River in the warmer months, and swimming indoors or skating when the seasons change.

Creativity is another important outlet for me, helping me stay grounded and connected. Whether I'm immersed in a personal project or simply enjoying quiet moments with my family, I strive to live with intention and balance — values I bring into my work with clients as well.

Having experienced the power of therapy firsthand, I know how transformative it can be to feel truly seen and supported. My own healing journey has shaped my perspective as a therapist and deepened my belief in the human capacity to grow, even through life's most difficult seasons. Helping others find clarity, relief, and hope is not just my profession — it's my purpose.
